In 2006 Tom McBroom was selected by Country Hills Golf Club to prepare a master plan to help guide the Club in its efforts to improve the 36-hole facility. The Club has hosted National and Provincial Championships and wanted to move the courses to the next level in order to meet the standards for the next decade of competition as well as to improve the facility for all the members. McBroom prepared an overall vision for both the Ridge and Talon courses to provide strategic and aesthetic improvements. Under McBroom’s directions the Talon course has since been redesigned to reinforce its “links” nature with distinctive bunkering style, contrasting use of bentgrass and fescues and improved strategy. The results are outstanding and the Club is preparing to embark on improvements and redesign of its parkland Ridge Course.

Awards & Accolades
“Tom McBroom has transformed our Talons course into a beautiful, scenic test of golf that is fun and playable for any level of golfer. The bunker style McBroom brought to the Talons is very unique in Alberta and not only provides a great view but challenges the golfer to play the proper shot. Our golf course is now ready for any event from an annual Member-Guest to the Canadian Tour.”
